Senior General Accountant

Initial onsite for 2 weeks (Makati Salcedo), then transition to WFH

Job Description

As a senior general accountant, you will be responsible for providing accurate, timely, and relevant monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports to leaders, managers, auditors, and other stakeholders. The role will mainly support the general accounting function of Manila Finance and will be assigned projects and other ad hoc tasks. As a senior member of the General Accounting team, you will use your accounting experience along with your data and Excel skills to drive process improvement and automation within the general accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting

  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; prepare complete set of financial statements, and other reports
  • Prepare support and calculations for GST and income tax returns
  • Provide assistance in analyzing and calculating financial requirements for the organization
  • Research and respond in a timely manner to inquiries
  • Assist and/or prepare support for audits
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation

Treasury

  • Perform bank reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy of records
  • Assist in preparing payments instructions for intercompany settlement, vendor invoices and employee reimbursements

Accounts Payable

  • Assist in reviewing travel expense claims to ensure compliance with clients’ policy
  • Assist in validating invoices and assigning these to departments’ invoice owners
  • Participate in Accounts Payable monthly close process.
  • Maintain vendor files and cards
  • Support other AP tasks (e.g. gathering of support during audit season)

 

Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills required (VBA is a plus)
  • Proven track record in process improvement and process automation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, management, or finance required
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with experience in international organization or shared services preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • With general/intercompany accounting experience
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills with proven track record in process improvements (I.e., created working template(s) used by team or automated a process using VBA macro, Power Query or any automation tool)
  • Experience in Bookkeeping and Consolidation
